As you might know, the QSK60-C CM500 (HPI) model is no longer available. There are a few alternatives to address this problem. One of the solutions is to modify a QSK60-G engine into a QSK60-C, by adding accessories such as fan clutch, Elimination filter, air compressor on to the engine. We have sold quite a few such units to the end users, and they work.
However, those QSK60-G engines are with different camshaft, injectors, and turbochargers. Some might worry that they would not last. In the light of that, we have another perfect solution just for you. We will use a QSK60 CM2150 MCRS engine from the oil & gas application and modify it into a mining engine. Both an oil & gas engine and a mining engine are made for industrial applications, unlike the power generation engines, which are used at a fixed RPM.
The QSK60 CM2150 MCRS are slightly different from the QSK60 CM500. It has a different control system and fuel system. Fortunately with just some minor modifications on the wiring, it will fit perfectly into your dump truck. Our application engineering team, with support from Cummins, will be able to make that change for you without any concern.
